about

As you get older, not only do your ears become more trained but you have more time and experience working with your own music and listening to others' music. With all the time I've spent, since recording this is early-mid 2017, I've been searching for and listening to as much music as I could find that sounds remotely close to what I've made. As I listened I would constantly go back to see if I could still hear the same things in my music with my /new/ ears, I have gone back and reworked a lot of these pieces, shortened some, and just mixed others. As I was going through the audio files, I could see myself getting to know the programs and the music as the recordings went on.

The Dawn of Perception and Latitudes of Breathing were the first two I tackled. Doing a lot of remixing and post productions things, as little as just adding reverb in parts. Animism was next and had a lot of changes, at one point there was vocals in this song, I hope that version never made it to anybody else's ears...

Let Us Not Curse Life was translated into English because I felt like it was again, a different version of the same piece, better. 635 was altered so much that it was no longer 6 min and 35 seconds, so it could only be known as: Originally Titles 635. Freezing Room never made an official release as far as I know and Phantom Paradise was only released as a single with "4." 4 being the only track that I left alone, I was honestly too overwhelmed with the project file to attempt changing anything.

Rain, Train and a Plane never appeared on an official release as well. But here they are.

I hope you enjoy this collection of revisited/remixed pieces from Animism and such, sorry it is nothing like my last album/current sound, it's just me.

Thank you,

Zachary Schmidt

Original write up:

I made some noise based on how I felt after moving to Seattle.

In June of 2017, I moved to Edmonds, WA to pick up the pieces with former band mates Quinn Krivanek and Dane Stafford of Something Strange. We began playing a few shows here and there, but soon after progress started to slow down. So I started doing what I wanted to do, by myself. This is all self produced and my 3rd solo release.
